A new challenge was designed to use tungsten which has a specific gravity compared to “Chronos” stainless steel and is used in the rotational weight of the watch. Tungsten is said to be hard and difficult to work, as it means “heavy stone” in Sweden. However, by increasing the mass you can aim for more spin times than ever before. The gold-colored surface is ion-plated with a vapor-deposited titanium on an electronic beam, while the tip is pressed with ruby next hardness to a diamond. The red ruby, which adds a touch of glamor to the pinnacle of precision links is symbolized by the “Ilias”.
